Kitchen Sessions: Jonah Tolchin - American Dream video free download

WIth a lot of folk and a little dirty blues, Jonah Tolchin came to Kitchen Sessions to rock us away with his fancy guitar playing and quick lyrics. Jonah's battered guitar, the polish and wood worn off in some places, was as honest and raw as his deep voice and shy but beguiling presence. Mandolin player Ethan Robbins joined Jonah after a few songs to add dynamic rhythm and even more country flare. Throughout the set, I couldn't help but pick out the musicians who must have influenced Jonah, and I wondered if everyone else heard the sounds of Junior Kimbrough and a young Bob Dylan. But with distinctly modern lyrics and a unique playing style, Jonah is very much his own artist. Jonah and Ethan's final song together, "Cold, Dark American Dreams," was a new one from Jonah that made everyone groove and promised good things to come from this young songwriter.
