Beautiful song written by Kris Kristofferson and of course sang by the best, Ray Price. This is the audio of his performance live at Gilley's in 1981. This is the 1rst of several songs from this concert I will be uploading.

I never had no regrets, boys;

Not for nothing I've done.

I owed the devil some debts, boys,

Paid them all up but one.

And I don't even regret the living

That I'll be leaving behind.

I've gotten weary of searching

For something I couldn't find.

I'm going down to the shade

By the river one more time,

And feel the breeze on my face before I die.

I'm gonna leave whatever's left of my luck to the losers,

Then bend me down and kiss the world goodbye.

Come to lucky-in-lovin'

I never had no complaints.

They never said I was evil,

But then, I wasn't no saint.

I'm just a river that rolled forever

And never got to the sea.

I ain't blaming nobody;

I had it coming to me.

I'm going down to the shade

By the river one more time,

And feel the breeze on my face before I die.

I'm gonna leave whatever's left

Of my luck to the losers,

Then bend me down, and kiss the world goodbye.

I generally like Ray Price, but this particular version of "Kiss the World Goodbye" doesn't hold a candle to either Kristofferson's or Dean Martin's. IMHO, this song should be sung slowly, as it was by Dean and Kris. I love both of theirs.

Kathy, I guess I like Ray's faster version, but of course I'm a BIG Ray fan. Although I grew up with Dino on his show, probably never missed an episode. Kris Kristofferson wrote this song, and here's his version which is also good but slower like Dean did it, after the "=" KSnCxPaIN0o.

Have you heard Dean Martins version of this song. It is very good and still one of my favourites.
