It is funny how the Elder didn't sell that well when it came out but now people think it is a great record. I thought it was great from the onset but it was ahead of it's time I guess.

This song has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with "The Elder". "(Music From) The Elder" came out in November of '81. This song and the demo of it was recorded in the Spring of 1982 with Bob Kulick and NOT Ace Frehley. It was recorded specifically for "Killers". Ok no more arguing, the record has been set straight.

This song is from KISS KILLERS which was released after the Elder and before Creatures of the night. The Album had 4 new studio tracks, No Where To Run, I'm A Legend Tonight, Down On Your Knees and Partners In Crime and 4 classic kiss songs as they were trying to rebound from the dismal sales of The Elder.

"Love's A Deadly Weapon" and "Deadly Weapons" share only the lyrics "Love's a deadly weapon and murder's on my mind." Other than that, they're totally different songs all together.

Let's clarify. In 1981, before KISS decided to do The Elder, they recorded a batch of demos for a hard rocking album. This is one, along with the mythical "Deadly Weapons" that shares chorus lyrics with "Love's A Deadly Weapon" from Asylum. When The Elder flopped commercially, KISS had some tunes left over from these sessions and recorded them for Killers. Why Deadly Weapons never made it I don't know, it's a kick ass tune. But technically, this was NOT an Elder demo.

This was actually one of a group of demos for an album fans were promised would be much heavier than "Dynasty" and "Unmasked". KISS went with the concept album and this ended up on the compilation album "Killers" instead as it didn't fit in The Elder concept. Love's a Deadly Weapon was another track from that era that eventually appeared on 'Asylum". This is one great KISS track. Bob Kulick kills the lead.

Thats possible, many of KISS songs are just customized demos. For example check out "Rotten to the core" demo, that made "Hot N Cold"
