Gene was using Spector basses after Rock and Roll Over. He used the Thunderbird live as a back up through the Love Gun and Alive II tour. Look up Shock Me from Largo 77'. He switched to Pedulla in the 80's.

This is the first time I saw Gene breathe fire, so when I first saw KISS live I expected it be like in the movie, with that big explosion, LOL, I was kind of disappointed!

@nnothing - The bass Gene is using is a Gibson Thunderbird. The band's endorsement deal with Gibson back in the 70's required them to use Gibson guitars during any studio scene. Gene had switched over to Pedulla basses in 1976 after the Rock and Roll Over Tour. The opening of this song was done on set without the crowd, as the winds during this performance at Magic Mountain were terrible. Gene also did not breathe fire at this show because of that.

@nnothin2dobututube By full version I mean as compared to the version commercially on phantoms Yes the solos cut, not by me . Okay, I'll re title it ! More complete version sounded a bit long in the title .

never understood how Hanna Barbera didn't have better recording equipment! i know it was 1978 but this sounds like a guy in the audience with a crummy tape deck.great video though, nice to see more of the performance! i don't know if Ace even did a solo for this performance?
