According to KISSOLOGY Voluume 2, Eric Carr was relentless in his desire to participate in this music video despite his grave condition.  As KISS fans, we are so thankful that Eric appears in this video, his final performance with KISS.  Eric was the driving force, literally, for KISS's success during the non-makeup years (although Eric was fortunate to wear the Fox makeup too).  Eric, you are truly missed.

The Contingency Plan

And people wonder why Nirvana showed up 10 minutes later and saved an entire industry. This is what passed for music just before Nevermind.

I remember falling in love with KISS. I was like 13? I think. And I found an old cassette in my dad's room. It was just a classic rock mixtape and Lick It Up was on there and I just loved the song. Of course, I didn't know what it was about but lol still. And I begged my dad for days to get me a CD of KISS and he was kind if reluctant at first, considering I was a young girl and some of their music is well... you're aware lol. But we were at this pawn shop because he was looking for cheap tools and I found this album. It was $2.50 and I showed my dad and he decided that he would get it for me. I wore the CD out from playing it so much. One night after one of my softball tournaments we went to Wal-Mart and I was looking at the CDs like usual and I almost shit my pants when I saw the KISSOLOGY. I grabbed it and ran to my dad and eventually convinced him to buy it. I watched the entire thing all the way through and didn't sleep that night. Well. One day my dad came and told me had a surprise for me. We were going to KC because that's where my surprise was at. So we get to the city and go to a hotel and I was annoyed at this point because he just would not tell me anything. Before we went inside he made me cover my eyes and guided me the rest of the way. That walk felt like it took forever. But when we finally stopped, there were tons of people and it was loud and smelled kind of weird. He told me I could uncover my eyes. I was in heaven. There was KISS merch everywhere. People in cosplay. A tribute band would be playing later. But that wasn't what got me. As I was browsing, I kind of bumped this super tall guy and I apologized and he turned around and it was BRUCE KULICK. I literally almost passed out. We couldn't afford a lot but my dad bought me a KISS purse and I got a picture with Bruce and a signed "backstage pass". KISS helped me get through my parents' divorce and another pretty traumatic experience. And no matter what, my dad made sure there was food on the table, and music in my life. I would give anything to meet Gene or Paul, for no other reason than to thank them for everything.
