Kippi Brannon recorded this song in 1997. I'm sure a bunch of macho men shed a lot of tears when listening to this one. Yeah, our daughters had a way of wrapping us dads around their little finger. This song contains one of my favorite country lyrics of all time: "You can make a tear go a long, long way when you're Daddy's little girl." (Sob) My "little girl" is 27 now and she still has me wrapped around her little finger.
Just an update as of March 19, 2013. My daddy just passed away, a week short of his 90th birthday. I'm a guy, so I was never "Daddy's Little Girl", but some of the sentiments in this song apply to me, especially the line "what'll I do when my daddy's gone?". As the song says, he was a "book of advice". So many times since he passed away I want to call him or send him an e-mail and ask for his advice about something, then it hits me and I remember it's no longer possible. Gotta figure it out for myself. Maybe that's not such a bad thing.
