I love Ty and Jerry's backup harmonies. Very Beatle-esque. This is one of the greatest rock bands to ever grace this earth. One of my life goals is to actually see a live King's X show.

Thanks for the info (even though I'm sure I can't afford any of that stuff). LOL!

Doug S.

Dug usued to split his signal into 2 seperate amps. He ran the bass thru his Ampeg heads and the treble thru a Traynor tube amp. He used to use a Line 6 rackmount unit and a whole mess of graphic eqs. That was a while back, he made have simplified his rack recently.

Thanks. I'm just getting into bass and this is the tone I definitely want.

Using a pick. Keeping the treble somewhat high on equalization. Fenders and Rickenbackers are trebly to begin with.

Just ask Dug. He's friendly and accessible. Look him up on Facebook and send him a PM. I'm sure he'd be happy to answer that.

Any bass players out there know how Doug gets that metallic, crunchy sound in his tone? I really love that, but it's a mystery. Is it an effect pedal or something?

The greatest non-popular hard rock band ever! And THAT is a crime.

don't lose your faith. I got cornered in the dark ages by listening to Zep, straight Hard rock and anything real but not popular those days, when the commercial pop was emerging on all fronts.Sticking to your guns will pay off for the rest of your life

@gabeknight13 True that man, Its sad to see kids nowadays idolising stupid fuckheads like Kanye West, when King's X is everything that music should be. Their music is timeless dude, so just remember that your way smarter for getting into stuff like King's X rather than the total guff of todays mainstream.
