No i tottally agree that being featured on alist or compilation does'nt make it from that genre.As i've clearly stated since my very first comment.

yeah, but when I am featured on a list or a compilation, does that make a genre? for me a style is defined by certain musical attributes – and in sucultures the "who is playing it". that's it. in compiling sales & taste play the major role. the psychobilly-tag helps sales. naturally the point is worth nothing! because either you like it or not. :) by the way torr himself says: "We wanted to play traditional rythym and blues but this is what came out."

it's technically not psychobilly, as psychobilly is defined by for the lack of better words punked-up rockabilly and surf guitars. as stupid as it sounds/is "only meteors are pure psyxhobilly." king of nuthin' musically take ol' time rhythm'n'blues and do the same to it as the meteors once did with rockabilly. many moons ago. very different beat and rhythmic patterns. so what are the kings of nuthin'? rhythm'N'psycho? is it important? categories help talkin' about music. that's all.

They changed the lyrics from "police are running facing defeat" to "police are running in defeat" wich works out much better than the original. so yeah this cover is a million times better, originals still good though

psychobilly iz cool...which tey were featured on a psychobilly compilation album with demented are go! horrorpopps and various less mentionable band ,,,,but i put kings of nuthin in their own league just outside of psychobilly ...but apparently they are in the psychobilly genre similar to krizz kaliko funkras (funk rap rock n opera) being considered r n b rap ( not hip hop but rap) ( you should check him out btw strange musik technician 4 life)

The guys are neither Rockabilly nor Ska. They sound more like the first type of Rock n Roll: Jump Blues. Louis Jordan, Earl Bostic, Ruth Brown, Early Ray Charles, Arnett Cobb, Wynonie Harris, etc. Basically, during WWII, it was hard to keep a big band together because a lot of musicians were drafted. So they started playing in small rhythm combos instead.
