This is one of the best albums in my collection. She came to Philly to perform before the album was released and put on an awesome show. Afterwards she greeted each guest on her tour bus. Skin? Flawless. She was just as sweet as she is pretty and talented.

Oh, Kina! I wish you'd put out another album or that I could find this debut! You were SO AMAZING when this song came out and I've been looking for another from you. Thanks for giving inspiration to a fellow black woman into punk rock and getting tortured for being different. :-)

"I know y'all bitches think I'm somewhere dyin inside/Oh yeah, poor Kina, she went home/She couldn't take it no longer/But I'm right here/I'm right here/I'm right here…not bad for a girl from the gutter like me!" This is so, so, so much deeper than a relationship. She's talking about dream-stealers, users, liars, and spirit-killers… and coming OUT ON TOP! For me, this is an anthem for the ages right here.
