If you're a fan of the 60's/70's British blues invasion, then you well remember Kim in Savoy Brown. He's still going strong today at 61. Here's a nice clip of a classic John Lee Hooker boogie (with a little Jerry Lee Lewis interlude), backed by Dallas' own Jim Suhler band (if you know Suhler, he's been in Thorogood's live band for 10+ years). Kim played with Suhler, solo acoustic and in some jams....a great addition to the legacy of the Dallas Int'l Guitar fest, and a supremely nice gentleman to chat with. As Kim says.....feel the PAIN of the blues (in the Dallas sun that is).

That was the first concert i ever attended- I was about 12. I had never heard such loud music! I was all worried the house was going to collapse on us just from the sound!! And we stood behind some people getting high, I got my first contact high-So funny!!

Words cannot describe this quintessential rock star. I chauffeured Kim Simmonds from the airport to this event in Dallas. This is the way it's done folks. Take notes. Fman

I saw them a long time ago in Oklahoma City. Simmons new albums are great, these old guys seem to get better with age. I did like Chris Youlden on vocals.

Saw Savoy Brown in the early '70s in Clemson, SC. Was blown away. Hard, hard blues. Orange Amps? Seems like it. Rock on Kim...Jack
