I can't believe this lady is not more well known. I became aware of her only by accident. Her song, 'A Place Called Home' was used in the show 'Angel'. I was immediately captivated and looked up the singer. She is stunning! If she came to my city, I would love to see her!

ya know they need to pull one of these songs for Hayden P to sing on NASHVILLE next year, it's never too late for a hit song that wasn't to become a hit. this one is so obvious it's beyond "duh." it would make a real good "closing scene" song for the end of Season 3 i do think. del shannon was the first writer to use the "minor key/verse, major key/chorus" on a radio hit (rock era anyway), so his estate should get a fifty-cent automatic bump every time someone has done it since then.this song has a great chorus because both the "minor key" and "major key" contrasts are sort of implied (Fm/verses, and Abmaj/choruses) -- since the chorus starts with a Db. so it's just the four chords going around in a circle (Fm/Ab/Eb ; Db/Ab/Eb). and you never EVER hear a good song in Fm (which would be a Em / G / D common thing with a capo, i guess)

As much as I love Kim Richey's CDs, it's her live performances that always blow me away.

WOW!!! I adore her style music and voice, I fell in love with her on Straight as the crow flies, and have collected all her work now, and am never without one of her CD's in my car. I cannot fathom why she has not reached the absolute top of the Country Music establishment! I'd love to get the chance to see her in the UK

Richey is such an enigma as an artist. An amazing songwriter, voice of an angel, and in the day, had "the look". Makes one wonder what the hell was going on in Nashville and why she was relegated to second tier status. To her credit, she performed at least twice I know of at the CMA awards, backing artists doing HER songs. There are three artists I think were way underappreciated by the establishment in "the day", Richey, The Mavericks, and Matraca Berg. I wonder how big they could have been...

I love Kim's vocals and music. She's a great songwriter. I saw her live when she opened for Trisha Yearwood...that was a great concert!!! I am looking forward to more!

guitar-wise this sounds a whole lot like the studio version, and it's certainly no surprise he copped your parts. you're a very nice, tasteful player. it's weird seeing this -- Kim all coiffed and dolled-up, like she was trying to go whole-hog on the corporate country Nashville thing here. anyhow, she's a very special talent regardless of commercial success.

Kim was too rock for country and too country for rock.

That's me on guitar. I toured with Kim for her first record and did all the pre-production for Bitter Sweet but had to leave the band before that record was recorded. Kim was wonderful to work with and Kenny did a really nice job on the record.. It was kinda strange but very cool to hear so many of my parts interpreted by such a classy player.

Angelo Petraglia on acoustic guitar and Billy Beard on drums and Andrew Mazzone on back up vocals and bass guitar.....Great Boston Musicians but who's on electric guitar? Kim Richey is a great singer and songwriter and it makes no sense why she didn't become a bigger success but she's is a success and the world is a better place with her music in it.....
