Killing Joke - MMXII (2012)

I think this track captures the atmospheric and mystic sound of the Killing Joke of the 80s, but brought to modern times. Definitely my favorite from this album.

I'll put the lyrics up... it makes it easier to fight about (or sing along):Rapid inhuman advance of nano computer technologiesChanging our emotional developmentFor the lure of immortalityAnd a virus counts as life in the post-human dreamThe future doesn't need usBeloved Mother interveneColony CollapseA rupture in the fabric of human history,Self-assembling nanobots and human fallibilityMisprogrammed to replicate usA grey goo of nano seaThe future doesn't need usBeloved Mother interveneColony CollapseColony CollapseThe future doesn't need usBeloved Mother interveneColony Collapse

rewrite, too long for college - its called modern technocracy old-school, too much collaspes, empires, etc which are often toxic, reading too deeply we got a drug for you" A rupture in the fabric of human history" plagerism tisk tisk

Ironically enough...this track is the only thing in the universe that can make Honey go bad ;-)

One of the best songs of the year? I'd certainly agree.

Killer song...but that outro could have kept going forever.

Metallica should cover "Butcher" because thats what they do to all there covers. Hell they even butcher their own songs.

Lyrics are something kind of technophobic. Still a good song, though.

If I ever get to see Killing Joke live, this is the one song I hope they play! Heavy as all hell with a pummelling rhythm and a vaguely middle eastern inspired riff, this song will take heads off. Equally as brutal as it is epic. And when Jaz sings "The future doesn't need us" it makes you wonder just how far down the road to Armageddon we really are...

like a mixture of Endgame/Wintergardens mashed up together. so far, my fave. Primobile is a darkhorse. none of the new tracks beat honour the fire or here comes the singularity, those songs were fucking neckbreakers ;)
