I love this song. It's just a pity that in order to sing it properly you have to cut the endings off half the words and mispronounce most of the rest of them just to fit the beat and such. Poor women did the best she could with what they gave her, and it sounds awesome.

Oke I'm German native speaker, love this anime, adored this song beforehand but now. I'm loving it. I have to admit I never got that it's actually German, mainly because I never admittedly never bothered to find the song outside of the show. I liked the sound if it beforehand since the sound alone gave you a feeliing on what kind of person Ragyo is but now that I'm aware of the lyrics, it's just another layer added to my adoration for this show and song. After listening to it once in its entirety, I can say that I understand it perfectly, the pronounciation isn't that bad. It just sounds strange for us but we would sound strange for japanese native speakers too if we tried. No matter how good you become at speaking a foreign language.Addendum: I was trying to think about those lyrics with this melody if sung by a german singer. It didn't sound nearly as good in my opinion. The japanese accent to the words, for example the way the "ch" isn't spoken, gives it a special flavour you wouldn't have with pure German.
