No one really knows who wrote the song.

Honestly, none of the videos of this cover on YouTube do it justice. They all sound like crap compared to the actual song if you bought it. I was listening to it from my iTunes and wanted to share it on fb so I came here, but sadly I couldn't find a decent video that didn't make the song sound really crappy. So don't be too hard on the song if you're just listening to it from an uploaded video on YouTube.

WZRD, in my opinion, is the best Kid Cudi project to date.

to be fair people are only hating on this because cudi is a hip-hop artist, or is perceived tobe, honestly hes off doing his own thing hes not in any particular genre. for this album he wanted to expand musically, he was a poor kid from cleveland he never leared the guitar or anything but he wanted to, andhe did somewhat, enough to do a cover of a song made popular by one of his favorite artists, how is that wrong? how is that different than nirvana doing the same thing with this song? is kid cui as musically gifted as kurt cobain or nirvana? FUCK no, but how many are? i give the man credit for completely stepping outside of anything hes ever done to try something new, 99.9% of hip hop artists wouldnt do anything of the sort.

pretty mono-toned vocals completely emotionless.

I enjoyed Leadbelly's version, Nirvana put new meaning into the song, and Kid Cudi evolved it in his own interpretation too. Its a good song. Kudos to all of the artists putting their own spin on classic folk songs. Love the lyrics, and love the multiple interpretations.

I quite enjoyed this and I love Nirvana's version. I don't think this disgraces the original, Lead Belly's nor Nirvana's take on it. People will always have different ways of performing and understanding music.

Whats all the fuss about Nirvana are one of my top 2 bands and I only really know the odd single of Kid Cudi but I have no problem admitting this is really good. Nirvana will always be iconic and you don't have to trash another artist to prove that.

Not on the level of Leadbelly nor Kurt. I honestly don't like it, but whatever. I honestly don't like most of his raps either, the flow's just awful usually.

Everyone is saying "Nirvana did it better" Yeah but this is way closer to the Nirvana version than the Leadbelly
