There's a great interview with Brian Reitzell where he talks about getting Shields to record this song... Spends literal months messing around with guitar EQ and getting nothing done, then when he's finally got the tone in his head to come out of his amp, he lays it down in one take. He's a pain in the arse, but probably an actual genius.

This movie was SO attracting to me. The setting is absolutely radiant as well. One of my distant wishes is to just get lost in a country like Japan, where you absolutely can not communicate via the ways you are used to. It forces you to readapt to things you never thought you'll have to adapt to. You get sort of lost, but also vastly free. You feel careless, but in a good sense. With not a worry in your mind you set on to explore what this world has to offer, you feel uplifted as though something is carrying you and pulling you towards them and everyone just seems so... interesting, but distant. You realize this world has so much to offer. The constant thoughts of giving up suddenly all melt away. And for a split of a second, you feel... not happy per se, but full of hope. For the first time in your life you feel ready to tackle everything, come what may. You start living.
