Nope. Sometimes it's attributed to Depeche Mode because they have a similar sound, and Depeche Mode is way more popular, but they didn't write it and to my knowledge, never even released a cover of it. "The Promise" was originally done by the UK band "When In Rome" in 1988. Either way, they've definitely got Anberlin and New Found Glory beat by about 25 years. NFG and Anberlin just covered it.

That's actually I Promise You I Will by Depeche Mode. A little creative license, of course.

Close but no cigar. "The Promise" was written by When In Rome, back in the 80's. NFG just covered it.
