Knew of the late Kevin Ayers but somehow had never heard this song until it turned up on a BBC 4 compilation and I was just blown away by it. Great song and brilliant guitar work.

beautiful song this. fantastic guitar playing by Calvin Batchelor. Kevin Ayers ( vocals ) and Archie Leggett ( bass guitar ) are sadly both deceased. R.I.P. Because of this song i've bought numerous CD's and love everything Kevin Ayers and the prog scene in general.

Been singing this song for over 20 years, but this is the first time I actually hear the original version (a friend taught me his version before the internet era). Guy was an amazing, highly underrated songwriter.
