"And in a lightning flash Lady Day waltzes with Astaire" Interestingly, Fred Astaire and Billie Holiday both recorded the Gershwin song called "They Can't Take That Away from Me" in 1937. Astaire's version appeared in the movie "Shall we Dance." Thus, in those segregated times, the two, though contemporaries, could only dance, or move together, in separate recordings (or "in a lightning flash"!)

"Mary Shelley's dream Sews a zig-zag seam Over everything that the winter hid Over everything that the heart forgot" That's the translated 2nd verse. Other than point out Frankenstein's author, I'm not gonna try to interpret that, but it's sheer genius.

Interestingly, Beaudelaire was born about a month and a half after John Keats died, in 1821. Therefore the line "And in a lightning flash i see Keats standing beside Baudelaire" implies some sort of supernatural connection.

To dream magnificently is not a gift given to all men, and... it (can further be) diminished by the ever-growing dissipation of modern life and by the restlessness engendered by material progress. The ability to dream is a divine and mysterious ability; because it is through dreams that man communicates with the shadowy world which surrounds him. But this power needs solitude to develop freely; the more one concentrates, the more one is likely to dream fully, deeply. charles baudelaire

Thank you for the explanation. Sometimes it's quite difficult to understand the context behind a song in other languages even with a roughly correct translator. I guess that's the gap between different cultures...

The song is meant to be a peek to all critics who thought that the members always sat and drank red wine while reading old victorian poetry. So the song is actually isn't about something, just an answer and mock to all critics by using old actors, old poets and so on.

Vem lägger Jocke kransarna på i slutet? Har alltid undrat det... Är det hans skugga eller nån annan i bandet?

Bara jag som tycker att Jockes outfit[s] är helt jävla outstanding?
