@SpencerSpats I used to see him at the Blue Note in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. However, I first fell in love with his music in San Jose, California in 1975 with his release of Silver Morning. I love his simplicity, even though what he does is complex, it is just simple, lovely music. What a wonderful soul we miss

This was at the Blue Note in NYC. I saw him at the Bottom Line in 1975/76 [dates get hazy] and I will never forget the sweetness and beauty of Kenny Rankin's voice.
