Kenny Loran hails from Texas and was a CAPITOL rocker. He also recorded for CHALLENGE and DAWN. "Brenda" (DAWN 1114 - 1959) is a decent rocker.

I found more information on Kenny Loran. 1958 - "Change of love/Lonely boy" (Challenge 59010) 1959 - "Brenda/My girl doesn't care" (Dawn 1114) 1959 - "I chickened out/Stop me" (Capitol 4230) 1959 - "Mama's little baby/Magic star" (Capitol 4276) 1959 - "Top man/Look who's lonely" (Capitol 4305) - "One more record please/Sugar 'n a kiss" Your dad Jimmy must have been beyond words and beyond time. He must have been a great performer and undoubtfully a talented performer.

Thanks Bob for this excellent information. Kenneth Albert Loranger aka Kenny Loran with his brothers Norm, Larry, Lavern and with Danny Hinzo recorded as Kenny Loran & The Laurels. Later Kenny with Ron DeVer, Larry DeVer, Clayton Edwards and Ray Fox recorded as The Cordairs. I know two singles of Kenny Loran. "Brenda/My girl doesn't care" - Dawn 114 (1959) and "Magic star/Mama's little baby" - Capitol 4305 (1959). "I chickened out" was another Capital recording. Kind rocking regards from Roland.

The Laurels were So Cal guys I think. Kenny Loran was Kenny Loranger from Luzinger High school in Lawndale. The Laurels included Harold Hinzo and Jimmy Logue (my Dad). Great music. When my Dad passed away Harold came to the celebration and talked about them doing backing vocals for Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps in 1960. My Dad always avoided talking about those days because they all got burned by agents and never saw a penny. I am just now finding out about what I think is some cool music.

Thanks so much for the information. The backgroundsingers didn't need work done to their voice for them to sound good like they do nowadays. Kind rocking regards from Roland.

What sounds better than the blackbirds in the evening? What sounds better than the rain against the window? What sounds better than a lure in the silence? What sounds better than "Brenda" your great name?
