Many of the Kenny G fans also rated him as a jazz artist, which he is not. I may sound blunt. But, with all due respect, I've heard countless versions of SUMMERTIME, and, this is not one of top one hundred on the list. If you're a jazz buff, you'll agree as well. Compare Kenny G's version with Charlie Parker's. The latter's version of SUMMERTIME was recorded on November 30th, 1949. As a matter of fact, Kenneth Bruce Gorelick was not even born when Charlie Parker's version of SUMMERTIME was released on February 10th, 1950. The three formats: 78rpm shellac (three discs), 45rpm (also three discs) and ten-inch LP was entitled CHARLIE PARKER WITH STRINGS on Mercury Records.

Gershwin elevado a la enésima potencia con esta interpretación de Kenny G. Un gran placer que nos permite la música cadenciosa del saxo.
