Crucify and down vote me, but I prefer this version. Heep was up against Purple and Purple won IMHO. There are a few other Heep songs I like, but this one is my #1 from them.

that guitar.. oh, that guitar... When i saw Uriah Heep Live i went with my son.. when this song was played , my son and I hugged and did promise this would be our song forever.. today , when we listen "The Wizard" , we saw each other in a very special way.. A way that is only possible between a father and his son... I know this song will keep my image as a father living forever in my son´s heart even when I am not in this world... Thank you Mr Hensley for your help creating such a wonderful connection... "..The vision of his wisdom means will never be alone"

When I learned guitar this was the first track I learned completely. I used Mick Box's tuning, but this sounds simpler. I preferred it with David Byron's voice up front and Ken singing backing, but it's still great to hear it again.
