Haven't heard this version of this song in quite some time... like in 20 years maybe longer... ? I knew Randy Travis sang this song long before I ever knew or heard Keith sing it and I'd have to say Randy sings it better even though Keith sings it different, they're both good.

Old country music: where 17 different artists could sing the same song and every single version sounds amazing.

He just never released it. Had the music production been a little better he could've made this a number 1 before Randy would've got it.

Remember, whether you like or dislike a certain version. Without the original there can be no remakes. If Keith wouldn't have made these songs then RT, MC and GS wouldn't have theirs

He also recorded "Nobody in his right mind would have left her" the same year as this. Randy Travis and George Strait recorded the following year. "L.A. to Miami" was the album I think. He recorded "Kentucky Blue Bird" that Wade Hayes re-recorded in the 90's. :) Keith Whitley is an amazing country legend.
