Lovely, but for me 'Innocence' is the most beautiful track of the album. Would have been great, that song being performed here. The 'BBC Sight & Sound' concert with Dunford's Renaissance is also great.12 years ago

I just about fell out of my seat when I heard that little reference to Beethoven's Pathetique. I love this! When Annie Haslam answered and ad in Melody Maker to audition for Renaissance she was asked to sing Island. She was hired the next day.13 years ago

This was on the program Beat Club on their first color episode. A recording of Kings and Queens from this session showed up on an episode of Beat Club later that year, more than likely after this line up dissolved. This is my favorite line up of this band, more rocking than the Annie Haslam line up and much better than the Binky Cullom line up particularly because Jane's vocals fit the music so much better and I have always liked McCarty's drumming better than Terry Slade's.13 years ago

i ended up buying the kings and queens dvd on voiceprint...the dvd has the intro to this song by the host....quality on kings & queens is better than on island....the binky clips are better than the earlier vhs clips....they spelt jim's name wrong again in the liner notes (McCarthy). josh.14 years ago
