A lot of Brits will have a problem with this song (this is going to be similar to my previous comments on this page re a certain Depeche Mode song).The first time I heard "Miss Chatelaine" I registered something "wrong", "inappropriate", about the main verse-melody. I knew I'd heard that motif somewhere before...and now, hearing it again years later, I realise where I'd heard it before - and piss myself laughing. (And this doesn't have the excuse of predating a certain long-running animated kids' TV series...)

I fell in love with her when I saw this video, she looks so beautiful, make-up is impeccable, right down to her smile. Her voice has a tremendous range and her talent is at times a hidden treasure. Another of Dan and I's favorites. Hope you all enjoy as much as me!!! This was sort of a dig at the magazine industry for a little fun. It's out of her norm to dress like this, but she looks great and that voice and this song...............memorable, fascinating, beautiful and breathtaking!!!

This is in my top 10 favorites by her and that is saying a lot! As she has so many that are great!!! Just love how she sings this song and the fun/frolic of the video. From what" sananto35" wrote, now it makes sense for me, but it didn't matter anyway. It just added to the song when this video came out :). My hubby and I just adore it!!!!

One of Dan and my favorite songs by her - glorious and so out of the norm for her. It was told to me she did this look because there is a magazine in Canada that is called Miss Chatelaine and a bit of humor to lighten things up. Either way, we didn't care........it just showcases her voice so wonderfully. And she is beautiful...I knew that before she got all dolled up :). Hope you enjoy it as much as we have over the years. Got the album way back in the early 90's.

important side note, "Miss Chatelaine" refers to an annual award given by the Canadian women's magazine, Chatelaine (along the lines of Good Housekeeping or Better Homes & Gardens in the U.S.) ... so, along with a beautiful song, k.d. is also making a subtle, witty comment on constructed gender roles...yet another in her jewel box of artful personae.
