Kay Starr was merely attending Les Paul's show, when he invited her to join the band on a number. The result was truly memorable. On this night, Kay was 83 and amazing.

These days are gone and it's sad, one thing i like is women that have class and respects the way they act and how they are seen in public, all this filthy hoochie ho's that are bringing down the simple decency and values there not sexy a classy women is sexy, and Beyonce all she does is rub her ass and stick it out it degrades us real women

Wonderful! Came here looking for Kay's version of Blue Christmas, which co-author Jay Johnson once told me was his favorite. Was it a "B" side or on an album? I don't know, but after watching this video I can go away happy. Merry Christmas, Ms. Starr!

@rallful Thank you,I actually have these CDs and will check them again - I think mine is called "Rising Starr" and is a double CD compilation of her earliest work when her voice was still very young, sweet and much lighter than in 1950s period. She is one of my favorite singers. If you can, check out her gospel album!

@1969SL I have done a bit more searching! Search for V - disc 602. Side 2 has Kay, Les and Joe performing 'There' a Lull in My Life' and 'What Goes Up Must Come Down' with Les soloing on the second one.

There have done it before; they made several records in the 40's with Joe Venuti on violin.
