EXTREMELY underrated! Walking on Sunshine may have been their claim to fame but it was also their downfall. People mistook this amazing band for bubble gum pop and stopped listening. Some of us listened all along. This entire album is amazing. And so were the next 2.

On this day in 1985 {August 17th} Katrina and the Waves performed "Do You Want Crying?" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program 'American Bandstand'...At the time the song was at #43 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, three weeks later it would peak at #37 {for 2 weeks} and it spent 10 weeks on the Top 100...It reached #29 on the Canadian RPM Singles chart...And on the same 'Bandstand' show the group also performed "Walking On Sunshine", earlier in 1985 it peaked at #9 {for 1 week} on June 16th...The British quartet had three other Top 100 records; "Que Te Quiero" {#71 in 1985}, "Is It That?" {#70 in 1986}, and "That's The Way" {#16 in 1989}...Lead singer Katrina Elizabeth Leskanich celebrated her 57th birthday four months ago on April 10th {2017}...
