Her biggest hits include "Wunder gibt es immer wieder" (lit. There will always be wonders, 1970), "Der Stern von Mykonos" (The star of Mykonos, 1973), "Abschied ist ein bißchen wie sterben" (To say goodbye seems to be a little bit like dying, 1980) and "Theater" (1980).

Made her debut as stage actress in 1980.

One of the few West German singers, who were allowed to tour East Germany and the Soviet Union.

Being strongly interested in politics and humanitarian aid, she founded her own charity.

@Terry Thomas Vicky Leandros never sang this song. Besides Katja only Nana Mouskouri and G. Goetz recorded it. But this song is mostly associated with Katja Ebstein. It was written/composed by Christian Bruhn who later on married Katja.
