I stood up for myself because no one else did. Now i have friends who stand up for me behind my back and in front of me.I can relate to this song and im so glad that someone finally wrote a song about this theme, and im glad it was Kate Miller-Heidke... <3

When I was in primary school (I'm in high school now) our school showed us this song. At the time we nomen saying it sucked but I only recently realised we just didn't understand it because we were too immature.I'm in high school now and this song definitely affects how I look at the people who have few friends. 1 day I saw some kid getting pushed around by some known school bullies. I learn boxing, have been for 4 years, and I feel comfortable having a fight.I saw the kid was trying to stand up for himself but coudnt so I helped out. I walked up said leave him alone, they started a fight, but it was quickly over after I badly hurt 1 of them.I'm not friends with the kid I stood up for, but he, and pretty much everyone else looks at me differently now, and no one picks on that kid anymore.The morale of the story is stand up for the little guy. People will realise your a good guy, or girl, for doing so.

Tis a strange old world, corrupted by money and power but some of us still go strong and there are decent people out there. I've been in this situation many of times before and got over it, hell it still affects me today but I've found who is there and who is not for me so that is one lesson learnt.To whomever said it only gets better, yes that is true after you finish school if you go into college or whatever it is so much more chilled., and even if you do not continue education having that independence sure is probably a great thing, funny thing is I'm still trying to find that and break off from my parents.Don't want to rabble on much, lots will see this silly comment most likely :-) Just remember, there are good people out there, there are people who will help listen etc etc, and for heavens sake if you ever feel suicidal (I have before from a break up.) that is not the best option just think about who you are leaving behind and how it will also affect them. <3 Chris.
