In 1984 Kate McGarrigle was recorded by WXXI at Red Creek in Rochester, NY. This is the only solo performance of the hour long taped concert by Kate and Anna. Maria Muldaur and Linda Ronstadt were featured guests throughout the show. A truly intimate, rare recording.

Gorgeosity to the Nth Degree. This time around, I wish to re-dedicate this to the cowardly X-IT, the black sheeple of the fambly, nambly pambly. The Virgin? She who "makes it better" for the antagonist? Mama. The Whore? That moll what gave him HPV and a baby. (He stole mine.)How I miss Kate's contribution to the Canadian SoundScape, so fragile, so transparent (punnaciously, too); and, so v. v. heartbreakingly vulnerably tough. Now, all the angels share her, joyfully. Talk jouissance dance. He said I could call on him and he would respond. The list lie he ever mouthed at me. LIAR. LOVER. KILLER.

Beautiful lyrics, sung from the heart! So sad that such talent is taken from us too early!

a beautiful woman and song. It happened to me and all of us. It is also a hopeful song with depth people often return to the nest egg, but there is a reason for whatever happens.

Took guts to sing that. Probably therapeutic at the time. Sad for her.

Ever since I first heard it, and even when it had no relevance to my own life, I have always ended up crying at this song, the emotion so delicately and generously expressed..

I guess I was trying to say she was a woman of integrity. An admirable quality. I LOVE this!!!

OMWOrd! This is SO beautiful, but like a really big sock in the gut b/c of the pain of it! Very candid, and how did she not cry even, because I had to fight not to! What I love is that this woman is remaining very decent about the pain, not destroying with words. That takes courage and forgiveness. Thanks for post.

I love working out

I first heard this song over 30 years ago and I still love it as much as I did then. So simple, so heartbreaking.

Why do all commentators call her Kate? She looks like Anna. Kate was the smaller one.
