Most people regard Kate's version (this one) as the original, but it was written by The Veronicas and the first recorded version (and, in my opinion, the best one yet) was a demo by them. Actually, it's quite a popular song for people to do, it's also been covered by Everlife, Cascada and Tammin Sursok. I've never heard Tammin's version though.
