Kate Campbell is a very underrated folk singer/songwriter. She's got a unique style, and her songs tell wonderful stories. This song is from her 1995 album "Songs From The Levee". Nice accordion accompaniment; I wish I could accurately attribute it, but there are two accordionists listed: Howard Laravea and Joey Miskulin. It's Al Perkins on dobro and Kris Wilkinson on viola. Johnny Pierce sings backup. The song was written by Kate Campbell, Ira Campbell, and Johnny Pierce.

So touching, Kate! Reminds me of my grandparents' farm that I hope can always remain in the family somehow, especially once they are gone.

I discovered the music of Kate Campbell a few years ago, when wandering over some CD's in Borders. It was a gem. Her music comes from the heart.

Haunting, nostalgic, and ever so endearing. A remarkable song from one who has the perfect voice to convey the incredible lyrics of this song. Unforgettable. I feel sure he as listened to it many times, and how it reminds me of the words of Wendell Berry.

Well, yeah, I agree with you. I've met Kate, and she is so genuine. Is Lady Gaga genuine? No, just the opposite. Kate sings about simple real life experiences, that's what makes her unique. I need to make some more Kate videos. Her songs have such imagery.

One has to wonder why the hype and fame go to the people who have nothing to say of import---thing Lady Gaga and the like and people like Kate--and there are others---play to niche audiences. As I say on my radio shows---they (and Kate in particular) do meaningful music.

I agree that Kate Campbell is very underrated. I have been to quite a few of her concerts in England and thoroughly enjoyed every one. Thank you for posting this video.
