now, 15-16 years later, this is still some of the most bat shit insane death metal I've ever heard. A total benchmark. it boarders on complete nonsense... and that is the best way for death metal to be...and holy shot this drummer kills.

Normally, you only witness this raw agression and energy at a live (deathmetal) concert Sylvain is the only DM singer that manages to maintain that exact same intensity in his studio vocals. Max Cavalera in his Sepultura did that pretty well to Even crazy talented bands like Nile fail to do so. In terms of vocals and agression and energy, they are at their best when playing a live show. Not on their albums. Nowadays, most deathmetal albums sound too polished imo Sylvain is a legend!
