Kat Edmonson does a beautiful rendition of Miles Zuniga's "Hopelessly Blue" at Ming's Café in Austin on March 20, 2011. This was a breath of fresh air after the madness of SXSW.

Kat Edmonson - Vocals

Davíd Garza - Guitar

Miles Zuniga - Piano

Eldridge Goins - Drums

Matt Hubbard - Trombone

@ theblackkeys84 - You said "she needs a new guitarist, not a jazz one."Eh? What genre did you think this was? Kat does Jazz and some pop covers, she is widely known and referenced as a "jazz singer", and this is a soft-jazz tune that David Garza, not usually known as a jazz player, is adjusting his style to fit, and very well I think. The guitar interlude near the end is typical soft-jazz practice. If you don't understand what you're hearing and don't appreciate David's playing, I feel sorry for you. All three people in this vid are wonderful artists in their own right, and beautiful to behold together.

Most venues, folks yak and drink. Musicians are used to that. I've been doing it for 48 years. It's their loss, especially with an artist as unique as Kat. Drink, drank, drunk. Same old same old.

I highly recommend buying her CD's to get the best audio and of course to support her. This song is on her latest 2012 CD 'Way Down Low', available on Amazon.

Got to see her performance at Mucky Duck last night and fortunate to speak with her between shows. At the Mucky Duck there is strict discipline against talking during the performance. She is as calm and comfortable on stage as she would be alone at home. Her public relaxed, pensive and heart felt style seems to be exactly as it would have evolved, first singing alone at home, then with an instrumentalist she that she was friends with. She is equally relaxed and personable with her fans.
