Recently, Dee Dee Bridgewater's version of Autumn Leaves, one of my favourites, was taken of YouTube. Now, Autumn Leaves is one of those songs that seem to have been recorded by pretty much everyone in the vocal/jazz genre, but I quite liked her version.Accompanied by a very nice orchestra, it featured the song first in French, then a musical interlude, then the 'standard' English lyrics.Still, Karrin Allyson's version is pretty lovely. It happens to follow the same structure too.And of course, I've other favourite versions. Autumn Leaves was one of the first songs I heard that introduced me to the wonderful vocal/jazz genre. Nearly 4 years ago I was looking at my dad's album when I came across *Greatest Love Songs: Nat King Cole*. A classic version. Other versions I sometimes enjoy are Ray Conniff's medley version, and Tierney Sutton's fast, jazzy versions. Both aren't on YouTube though.The Karrin Allyson version I've included below. The lyrics are really sung with zest. A classic 'warm night' song! :)12 years ago
