So beautiful , leaves me in tears everytime. They sing so well together and I love Paul Brady , but truly Karen has the voice of an Angel.

Karen puts the screeching version by Eddie Reader into the dustbin.

Obviously there are 22 people without souls, I pity them.

I agree with the other poster that the Five Hand Reel version is the best. I first heard it over 30 years ago when I was living in England and it made me want to just rush back to bonnie Scotland. Burns got it right. Wi´ 56 SNP MPs out of 59 it´s coming yet for á that.

I first took an interest in Paul Brady from seeing this video and learning that he is the husband of Karen Matheson. I just now saw a video of Paul Brady from 1976. I was much taken aback by how very far he was behind for a blooming hair cut. I dare say that he be a much better-looking man presently.

Beautiful language and beautiful voice. Sadly many of my ancestors were Scottish and Irish, but I do not understand these beautiful languages, and I have never had opportunity to visit their homeland. I find the language to be alluring, enveloping, and incredibly passionate.

Where could I find the the names of all those who played and sang to fulfill this really beautiful experience? If someone has the details I'd so pleased. I'm not very experienced as searching for these details. Kindest regards.

Ae fond kiss, and then we sever;Ae fareweel, alas, for ever!Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee,Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee.Who shall say that Fortune grieves him,While the star of hope she leaves him?Me, nae cheerful twinkle lights me;Dark despair around benights me.I'll ne'er blame my partial fancy,Naething could resist my Nancy:But to see her was to love her;Love but her, and love for ever.Had we never lov'd sae kindly,Had we never lov'd sae blindly,Never met-or never parted,We had ne'er been broken-hearted.Fare-thee-weel, thou first and fairest!Fare-thee-weel, thou best and dearest!Thine be ilka joy and treasure,Peace, Enjoyment, Love and Pleasure!Ae fond kiss, and then we sever!Ae fareweeli alas, for ever!Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee,Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee.
