On this day in 1984 {October 6th} Karen Kamon performed "Da Do Ron Ron" on the ABC-TV program 'American Bandstand'...The song was track five from her 1984 album 'Heart of You' and it never made the Top 100 chart...Her main claim to fame was performing the song "Manhunt" from the soundtrack album for the 1983 movie 'Flashdance'...Earlier in 1984 she did make Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart with "Loverboy", it peaked at #89...

This was an updated but likeable version of the Crystals' great original recording in the early 1960's. This was shown on MTV when it just showed videos and some were well-done like this one. Not sure what happened with Karen but she sparkled in this enjoyable video. I remember seeing it on the BIG SCREEN at Videopolis at Disneyland in 1988 that was torn down a long time ago. I have video of that night to forever cherish that memory of all the kids dancing to this song and others. Rock on!
