I've been reading a biography about Karen, "Little Girl Blue." Her eating disorder started when they made her get out from behind those drums. She thought she wasn't thin enough(was a little stocky and an athlete) and the drums were her security blanket, plus she was a damn good drummer. She was so much more beautiful before she lost all that weight. Seeing this video, I am just stunned at her charisma and natural talent. The Generation Gap disappeared when she was singing-children and their grandparents all stopped to listen.

She was loved by so many. She was so talented beyond comprehension. Her voice is as close to an angel as any I have heard in my 55 year life. And a broken heart drove her to a disorder she could never over come until it killed her. One of the saddest and most heart breaking stories I have ever known. And the songs she sang were about good love, lasting love. I still listen to her and will never forget her voice. She is one in a lifetime.
