Russian song Katyusha (1939) is here presented with lyrics in Italian. It was interpreted by Dori Ghezzi (1969). The Italian translation is quite different from the original song. Notice all the stereotypes about Russian culture (cossacks, vodka, and balalaika). In my video, "the heart of Russian steppe" has been modified and represented with... either the heart of Siberian forests or the city of Moscow.

I am sorry, I do not want to confuse people. Do you know the italian song Volare? It was translated or re-created all over the world in 20 different languages. This is the Italian 'interpretation' of Katyusha (sung by an Italian singer - 1969). Since Italians are ignorant about Russian culture, they mixed up katyusha, kazatchok, vodka, and cossacks...15 years ago

sorry for not commenting earlier! This is such a peaceful thread and I hope it remains like that. I owned a CD called "Chants et Musique du Monde". It was a compilation of songs from different countries and this song was also on that CD and it was under Ukraine. It was an eight minute long song. All choir.15 years ago
