What most people don't realize is everything that Kanye does is a predetermined calculated move. Go listen to him on a long form interview that isn't main stream media and lets him just talk instead of being asked the same generic questions. Him on The Brett Easton Ellis podcast is a good example to listen to if you want to hear his real intentions. Everything you see on T.V., TMZ and stuff like Rolling Stone magazine about him is essentially him playing a character, or more likely an exaggerated version of himself. It's all marketing and self promotion and looking at every opportunity and appearance as a business move. There is no such thing as bad publicity and since we live in world where negative things get more coverage than the positive it only makes sense to always be negative if you want to be #1.It's much easier to constantly play the character of an asshole because you can make mistakes or do things "controversial" things without losing your career. If you spend your career always trying to play the good guy who takes photos kissing babies or volunteering at the homeless shelter your fall from grace is much harder to recover from when you do make a mistake. We all suffer from the negativity bias. Kanye has been smart enough to capitalize off of it.
