This is probably my favourite version of 'The Wall' ever. Just listen to those heart squeezing notes around 2:24... Breathtaking.

This just shows that not only was this band awesome on record, but they were also arguably the greatest live act!

You are right on, Linnea. Heart squeezing notes. This and the "Two For The Show" versions are stellar. I have a very hard time listening to later versions. Such a shame. :-(  Thank you for sharing this awesome version!

Linnea, do you have Steve singing "slow down" at the Volunteer Jam(1982) with Charlie Daniels? I believe Steve played 3 songs (Summertime Blues/Down The Road and Slow Down) the songs can be heard on "Concert Vault" but not for purchase.

My all time favorite Kansas song! Steve's voice is both powerful and angelic here.

Steve Walsh was in a league by himself..in his prime, he could sing do handstands and paly the keyboards all at once. I NEVER missed a concert if it was within a 150 miles. In my day I could even sing along, but my prime has passed too !!! LOL

No one came close as we both know, my dear Alex :) The only one who could outshine Steve was himself in a slightly better mood ;)
