Honestly I need to crave John's voice to listen to those two albums he made with kansas. Whereas I can happily listen to Walsh any time, still another great Kerry Livgren Masterpiece to be celebrated.

Air Supply had the wimpy pop ballads around the same time, I guess this MTV Kansas isn't THAT soft..so I take it back. but lead singer here is a little too permed and posing for my rock cred comfort level. Check out Air Supply 'making love out of nothing at all'. when done gagging, notice the physical similarities of the singers.

Guitarist Richard Williams is so underrated....never mentioned when discussions come up about 70s rock guitarists yet he is responsible for a HUGE chunk of that Kansas sound and always comes up with such crafty solos. Here's to ya Richard....such a big contributor to the rock sound of the 70s.

I was born in '98 and honestly cannot see why people my age don't like bands like kansas. : (
