Carcass actually started off with the melodic death metal genre, but ofcourse without Iron maiden and judas priest this was never possible. Without guitarists like Yngwie malmsteen and Gary Moore there wouldn't have been melodeath. I think Kalmah and Children of Bodom and Carcass are the best melodic death metal bands ever.11 years ago
