This is a super nice and lovely song. Classic.(The sax reminds me of some of the sax in vintage Kate Bush music, and I love it!!!!)

Hear the breath of a dying worldSee the tears of children fallEarth and sky ripped apartA hundred thousand callMan has turned against the EarthIts heart and soul ground to dustEvery ocean emptied bareAnd all your dreams to rustFight to believeEvil reigns; you've lost all heart;Hear the clash of bloodied swordsSee the fields of battle cryEternal spring is lain to wasteAnd all is left to dieMan has turned against the earthIts heart and soul ground to dust;Lakes and rivers running dry,And all your dreams are crushed.Fight to believeEvil reigns; you've lost all heartHear the song of an ancient landBorne upon the midnight airThe echo of a distant timeA time we had to shareBut man has turned against the EarthHe breaks its very heart and soulSqueezing out the breath of lifeAnd all your dreams grow coldFight to believeEvil reigns, you've lost all heartHear the breath of a dying worldSee the tears of children fallEarth and sky ripped apartA hundred thousand call

@michaelangels11 ... agree with you a great voice, great song; but, according to the track-list on the CD, Justin wrote it; still, Earth & Sky does seem more like urgent plea for sanity, humanity from Mike. Your comparison twixt Lennon/McCartney & Pinder/Hayward has credence, but not so much. Justin's lyrics, melodies, vocal style, worldview, & main instrument are a far cry from Paul's art. Pinder and Lennon are a bit closer, though not much.

The Morgane done by Jacqui McShea and Fame and Glory done by Simon Nichol are also from Excalibur are great and worth checking out.

I think you should mean Notre Dame in France, cos the Moodies are WAY MORE CLASSIER than the UNIVERSITY of Notre Dame. Lived close to Notre Dame University....wished the place would have burned down...it's a waste of space, and The Moody Blues certainly aren't a waste of anything. BUT, they are, like the CATHEDRAL Notre Dame...awe inspiring.
