Doesn't Keith do it in open G as well capoed at the 4th? I have tried and tried to get the verse part down and it doesn't sound right, might as well finish off the Jumpin Jack Flash trilogy with an open G version?

To be honest, I'm not a fan of Mick T's fills and his playing in general. I like a more restrained approach. But each to his own.

That's a nice tone you're getting there PT. Thanks for the videos man.

That would be because you can't play 2 guitars at the same time. I've played this song hundreds of times in bands. If there's 2 of us (guitarists) I do all the single note fiddly stuff. If it's just me I play the main riff. If you try to play the lead lines on your own the guts drops out of the song. Believe me - those "basic chords" are the heart of the song.

Great job. Simple song but such a huge groove. I guess that's why they call Keef the human riff. Aretha did a great funky version (in F#).

What you're doing is OK on a beginner's level, but you're not playing the single-note lines that Mick Taylor plays in the chorus, and you're not playing the B4 at the end of the chorus. You're just playing the most basic chords.

Mick Taylor is such a great guitar player. His fills on Sympathy for the Devil during the 69 NYC concert are just simply awesome.

You've got a few weird conspiracy theories in your related videos. But other than that, fantastic playing

@privettricker Couldn't agree more. Some songs HAVE to be played in the tuning they were recorded in to get the right tone/sound. Brown Sugar, CYHMK, Start Me Up, In My Time of Dying, Kashmir, all really need the right open tuning. Great playing by the way, it's helping a lot
