Playing along to a backing track of The Rolling Stones' 1968 hit "Jumpin' Jack Flash" on my Alembic Essence Bass Guitar.

ABOUT THE SONG

Signed by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, "Jumpin' Jack Flash" was recorded between March and April, 1968 and was released in the U.K. on May 24 that same year.

The song was recorded during the sessions of their 1968 album "Beggars Banquet", although it was never included in the L.P.

"Jumpin' Jack Flash" peaked "Number One Single" at the United World Chart on

June 29, 1968.

Although Bill Wyman was the bassist of The Rolling Stones, Keith Richards played the bass for the original recording of the song (Thanks, VanzKantDanz.)

Whoever recorded this godawful cover you're playing along to needs to be strung up by his own vocal cords

Bill would bar his finger at the 7th fret and play the entire verse passage with his hand anchored in a "bar chord" so to speak. He also held his pick over the 20th-22nd frets for a guttural, circular tone. this would force you to point the headstock at the rafters as he was famous for.

Great playing, but this is not the original Keith Richards' 1968 bass line. Thanks anyway.

Nice..In our band I like to do the riff and then just pedal the same rythym on the B when the vocals start..sounds cool in a trio format too.

@bass0111 Of course you are absolutely right about this bassline. Nonetheless, I decided uploading this particular version because this is the way I play it when making it sound in small bands (one guitar, no keyboards and so on). Anyway, thanks a lot for your contribution.

Very nice, but what you're playing is the guitar part, not the bass part (at least in the Stones version). The riff you're playing is Brian Jones' 12-string electric while the bass (claimed to be Richards but sounds much more like Wyman) just pedals on the root (oiriginal key = B). Nice bass sound, though.

@Luchobassrock Lo siento, no tengo una transcripción, pero lo que hago es muy sencillo: es una improvisación sobre la escala pentatónica menor de Si. Muchas gracias por tu comentario.
