boys can take their shirts off on stage or where ever they want and no one complains. I read in a book about women in punk rock that female punk fashion is/was about taking what society says is beautiful and making it ugly because that's what it is. so I see her stripping on stage while yelling feminist stuff with sexist slurs written on her body as like a parody of the strip club, showing it for the ugliness it really is. She was a stripper at one point. That's my take on it.

Yeah but just because you could doesn't mean you should. I could present myself as an outrageous object of feminism by ripping off my clothes, but I wouldn't because I still would feel objectified even if it wasn't a sexual objectification. I think its great the way riot gels took words like bitch and slut and used them in ways that took the power away from those words, it sort of reminds me of the evolution of the n word. But stripping on stage is an act heavy with meaning and connotation.

Calling women "dirty ho"s doesn't seem to resonate with gender equality.
