Judy Roderick played this song before the Grateful Dead or Hot Tuna. She followed the original version of the song found by the Lomaxes in 1934 (from an 18 year old girl in prison for murder). It was called Woman Blue or Woman Blues & sung by women. It got turned around later. I noticed the difference in lyrics in the women's version...they would be their man's dog. Hot Tuna would not "be your dog". Enjoy!

Judy Roderick sang "Woman Blue" (I Know You Rider) in the early 60's before Jerry Garcia & Hot Tuna found it. It was originally a blues song sung by women, aka "Woman Blues". Enjoy!

Judy Roderick played this song before The Dead or Hot Tuna (I Know You Rider). It originally was a woman's blues song with the first few verses written by a female prisoner in for murder. This is a version we haven't often heard. Enjoy!
