Happened to be 'channel surfing' & found a move called Hootnanny....caught Judy singing Wade in the Water......that was enough to make me want to hear more....This song is wonderful.....Wish I'd been playing closer attention to music back in the 60's...my loss.........

"Farewell Aldebaran" is one of the best albums from the 60's, and considering the competition that's really saying something!

I bought my first Judy Henske album when I was 14 then the ones that followed.I am 63 now and still listen to them. What a voice.another very under rated artist. It just pisses me off on what some people think good music is.i.e.Brittany Spears,Justine Bieber.People who listen to that crap have to me tone deaf and souless.

Have you noticed how she brings out the poet in most, the peasant in others?

Judy Henske is smoke and whiskey, pain and sorrow turned to joy that still hurts. Damn, I think I'm in love, and at my age!

@kpatukas Aldebaran = eye of the constellation Taurus the Bull, red supergiant. Also mentioned in the Stones' song, 2,000 Light Years From Home.

I always have a strange feeling that I'm listening to a Siouxsie Sioux song. And I ADORE Judy Henske's voice!!! High Flyin' Bird hooked me, but I love the Aldebran album!

I wept when I heard this. Beautiful. Bells, tolling, and rapture, in a verse about divers: ""Her voice in the drowned bells was tolling In rapture we died" That's poetry, folks. Double meanings can be far more than mere puns.
