I'll be damned, here comes your ghost againBut that's not unusualIt's just that the moon is fullAnd you decided to callAnd here I sit, hand on the telephoneHearing the voice I'd knownA couple of light years agoHeading straight for a fallWell we both know what memories can bringThey bring diamonds and rustYes we both know what memories can bringThey bring diamonds and rustNow I see you standing all around with snow in your hairNow we're staring out the window of a crummy hotel over Washington SquareOur breath comes in white clouds, mingles and hangs in the airSpeaking strictly for me, we both could've died then and thereNow you're telling me, you're not nostalgicDamn give me another word for itYou were so good with wordsAnd at keeping things vagueCause I need some of that vaugeness nowIt's all come back too clearly, Yes I love you dearleyAnd if you're offering me diamonds and rust, I've already paidWell we both know what memories can bringThey bring diamonds and rustYes we both know what memories can bringThey bring diamonds and rustDiamonds, Diamonds and rustDiamonds, Diamonds and rustDiamonds, Diamonds and rustDiamonds, Diamonds and rust

For those interested in the comparison. Here is the original first version of 'Diamonds and rust' by Judas priest, live in 1978. At the time it was a rare cover song to do for a rising heavy metal band, and you'll see how the band took a ballad, ramped it up a little, then nearly 30 years later, return to the ballad version. There's no actual video, yet the audio is exactly the live album version.

Freddy gave his all, just like Rob and Bon. Any person at 20 years age at the moment can reflect on these bands as true rock & roll gods.
